The short answer

Cash flow finance can help an eligible business fund outgoing vendor bills and repay over time. Supplier payment finance can cover a wide range of approved goods and services, including international payments in most currencies. The useful starting point is the payment you need to make, its due date and a realistic repayment plan.

Different vendors. One cash-flow question: when must they be paid, and when can your business repay?

A supplier can sell time, technology or expertise

A growing business can face several large bills in the same week: an annual software renewal, laptops for new starters, a marketing agency invoice and a supplier deposit. They are different purchases, but they share a cash-flow problem. Payment is due before the business wants to release all of that cash.

Supplier payment finance starts with an eligible outgoing payment. It can be useful to businesses buying services as well as physical products. You do not have to describe your business as an importer or a retailer for its vendor bills to matter. Professional services, technology, logistics and other sectors all have payment cycles to manage.

For the service introduced by Hello, eligible payments can be spread over terms of up to 12 months. The provider assesses the business, invoice and transaction. Funding gives the purchase a repayment schedule; it does not reduce the underlying expense or make an unprofitable activity profitable.

Which types of vendor payment can you explore?

Use the categories below to describe what you want to buy. They are examples to discuss, not an automatic eligibility list. The provider must confirm the specific payment, supplier, country and currency.

Employee salaries are different from a contractor's invoice. If the payment involves overseas staff or payroll, ask about that exact arrangement. Do not assume that a service designed to pay suppliers also provides payroll administration, tax handling or employment services.

Can you spread cloud, software and advertising costs?

These costs deserve their own discussion because their billing methods vary. An agency invoice payable by bank transfer, an annual software bill and a card-only advertising account are not interchangeable transactions. Establish whether the provider can pay the vendor using the required method before you build a campaign or renewal plan around the funding.

For cloud services, distinguish a fixed commitment from consumption-based billing. A forecast for future usage is not the same as an approved invoice. For software, check when the renewal becomes binding and whether the contract permits cancellation. Financing an annual commitment does not make the licence refundable.

Advertising brings another timing issue: campaign spend can happen before revenue, but a campaign's return is uncertain. Use a conservative receipts forecast and include what happens if leads take longer to convert. Compare any annual-payment discount with the entire funding cost. A £900 saving on a software subscription does not cover a hypothetical £1,200 cost of financing it.

For a hardware purchase, our business laptop finance guide shows how to assess a concrete equipment invoice and a twelve-month example.

Look at the whole payment calendar

Imagine a business with £8,000 of cloud and software invoices, a £6,000 agency milestone and a £10,000 packaging order due this month. The combined £24,000 outflow may be awkward even though the business expects customer receipts later. The right funding question concerns the timing of each payment, not just the total.

This is a hypothetical purchasing example, not a funding quote. Some bills may be eligible and others may need a different payment arrangement. You may also be able to negotiate supplier terms or stage the order rather than finance all three payments.

Recurring spending needs particular care. If you finance each month's cloud bill over twelve months, several repayment schedules can overlap. Model the combined monthly commitment across the entire period, including new bills that will still arrive. A small first instalment does not show the eventual monthly burden.

Domestic vendors, overseas vendors and most currencies

The place a supplier is based does not have to dictate the currency it invoices in. Your US software vendor might bill in pounds; a European manufacturer might require euros. Record the supplier's location, bank country, invoice currency and payment amount as separate details.

Payments in most currencies can be considered through the provider, subject to the supported payment route and checks. Ask what exchange rate is used, which charges are included and what amount reaches the vendor. Confirm your repayment currency separately. A finance facility and a foreign-exchange conversion are different parts of the same transaction.

A named vendor is not automatically an approved partner, and paying a bill does not guarantee the vendor's service quality. Use your normal purchasing and invoice-verification controls. For more detail, see paying overseas suppliers in their currency.

How does this compare with business buy now, pay later?

Business buy now, pay later can refer to instalments offered at a seller's checkout or to a separate funding arrangement. The label alone does not tell you which vendors are covered, who lends the money or what happens if a purchase is disputed. Ask for the actual payment and repayment journey.

Direct supplier terms

The vendor waits.

You agree a later due date or staged payments directly with the seller. The arrangement depends on that supplier's terms.

Supplier payment finance

The provider funds the bill.

An approved supplier payment is funded, and your business repays the finance provider under a separate agreement.

Traditional supply-chain finance is another structure, commonly organised around a buyer's approved invoices and early payment to participating suppliers. Invoice finance usually concerns customer debts owed to your business. Our comparison guide separates those mechanisms.

Turn a list of bills into a clear funding enquiry

Prepare a simple list with supplier, purpose, amount, currency and due date. Add the expected source of repayments and your current borrowing commitments. This makes it easier to discuss a cloud renewal, materials order or contractor invoice without forcing every purchase into the same category.

Hello focuses on established UK limited companies and LLPs with at least £1 million in annual revenue. Our introduction fee is £0. The provider sets eligibility, the approved amount, available terms and finance charges. A larger facility limit does not mean every vendor bill will be accepted.

Use the initial enquiry form to get started. Financial documents are not requested on this website. For a stock purchase, the stock eligibility guide explains the information that will make the later assessment more useful.

Questions, answered.

Can supplier finance cover cloud services and software subscriptions?

Eligible invoices for business technology services can be considered. Check the invoice, contract and payment method. A card-only subscription or future usage estimate may need a different arrangement from an invoiced bank-transfer payment.

Can a business finance advertising spend or agency invoices?

Marketing-related business expenses can be considered, subject to approval. Confirm the payment method and invoice with the provider; a prepaid advertising balance and an agency invoice are different transactions.

Can funding cover freight, packaging and professional fees?

These are business-vendor categories to discuss. Acceptance depends on the specific service, supplier, invoice and payment route. Avoid treating a general list of examples as approval of a particular bill.

Can I fund an overseas contractor invoice?

An eligible business-service invoice may be considered. Confirm the contract, recipient, country, currency and payment method. Funding does not determine the contractor’s legal or tax status.

Can different types of vendors be paid?

The offering spans a wide range of eligible goods and services, rather than one retail category. Every payment remains subject to the provider’s checks and available facility terms.

Can I choose a different repayment period for each bill?

Available repayment options are set by the provider. Request the permitted term and complete schedule for each transaction, and assess the combined commitment if several payments overlap.
